Welcome to Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic VA School website
In our school we believe that each person is unique and created to flourish in God’s image.
We aspire to excellence through a nurturing environment in which every child takes Jesus Christ as their model and develops their individual gifts so that they live fully and serve others.
Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School was built in Penshaw in 1937 and since then we have worked in partnership with our parish to build a vibrant Catholic community. Our children are happy and valued, they grow in faith and achieve academically, they form lasting relationships and contribute generously to the life of the community.
We seek excellence in all and for all and our skilled staff provide exciting learning opportunities. We warmly welcome families and children from diverse backgrounds who support and enhance our Catholic ethos.
Please enjoy looking at our website where you will get an insight into our happy school and the successes of our wonderful children. You will be able to find out about our classes and all our curriculum achievements as well as extra-curricular activities. You will find copies of our newsletters and other documents, including policies, so that you can be fully informed about the life of this outstanding school.

Please email me if you would like to find out more or if you would like to comment on our website. Visits to school are also warmly welcomed; please contact Mrs Ludford, our school Bursar, to arrange an appointment.
During Lent our children are looking at ways to support the vulnerable in our area. They have each been given £1 and have been challenged to make this “grow.” Cake sales, penalty shoot-outs and smoothie making are all underway and lots more entrepreneurial skills are being developed so that we can raise as much as possible for St Cuthbert’s Care.
