Breakfast Club

Dear Parents,

We have reviewed our registration procedures for our breakfast club.

From September 2018 breakfast club will be accessible for children in Year 1 through to Year 6 only with a maximum of 30 places being available. This will be a ratio of 1 adult to 10 children. These places will be offered on a first come first served basis, although priority will be given to children who require everyday, by returning the following form to the school office.

OPENING TIMES

Breakfast club will run in term time only and will be open Monday to Friday 8.00am-9.00am.  Last breakfast will be served at 8.30am.  Please keep in mind there will be no access to breakfast club before 8.00am or after 8.45am.  Any children attending between 8.30am-8.45am will not receive any breakfast but will still be charged.  Breakfast club is held in the school hall and access can be gained by ringing the bell on the outside of the disabled access door, which is across the schoolyard.

An adult must sign their child(ren) into breakfast club at each attendance.  For safeguarding reasons please do not leave your child to enter by themselves.

An attendance register will be taken every morning.

At 8.55am all children will be escorted to their classrooms for the start of the school day.

FEES AND PAYMENT

The cost of breakfast club is £3.00 per session.  Your weekly amount must be paid at the start of every week on a Monday morning or the first morning of the week your child attends.  Non-payment will result with us having to ask you for payment.  Please do not put yourself and us in that embarrassing position.  You will be asked to make alternative arrangements for your child should you fail to pay.  If your child is ill on a day they are due to attend this will not be refundable as staffing provision will have been made and these costs will still need to be covered.  Payments can be made by either cash or cheque.  Cheques must be made payable to Our Lady Queen of Peace School.
Unfortunately we cannot accept childcare vouchers.  We are a ‘club’ not childcare.

AGREEMENT

A completed agreement form, which will include medical details, must be completed, signed and handed to the school office prior to your child’s first attendance.
Photographs may be taken from time to time.  Your photograph consent form held in school will be used as authorisation.

Children will be offered a range of cereals, toast, fruit juice, milk and water.  There is a range of toys, access to the KS1 outdoor area and sports activities run by Premier Sport available to children who attend.

If your child becomes unwell whilst in breakfast club the breakfast club staff will inform your child’s teacher who may deem it necessary to request that you are contacted and your child is collected before the start of the school day.

STAFF

Our Breakfast club staff are:

Mrs Darwin, Mrs Stark and Mrs Stobbart

It may be of comfort to you that the children are all very familiar with these members of staff as they all also work in school as lunchtime supervisors so they have a good knowledge of our children.

Our breakfast club staff are always available to speak to you should you have any minor day-to-day concerns regarding breakfast club.  However, please be aware that if this will be a lengthy meeting then a meeting with the head teacher should be considered as breakfast club staff have a duty of care to all children attending breakfast club.

BEHAVIOUR

Unacceptable and/or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.  This will be noted and reported to your child’s class teacher at the start of the school day.  This will be dealt with in accordance with our school behaviour and discipline policy.  Persistent unacceptable and/or disruptive behaviour will result in your child being withdrawn from breakfast club.

APPOINTMENT/HOLIDAY ABSENCES

Our breakfast club staff must be informed (separate to the school office) of any organised term time holidays or appointments which will mean your child will not be taking up their pre-booked place on any specified day(s).  At least 2 weeks notice must be given in writing directly to the breakfast club staff to avoid you being charged.  Non-compliance will result in you being charged for the non-attendance.
